employees.Position OverviewAs a Fleet Manager in GardaWorld's
Customer Service Support team, you will have an essential role in
supporting the efficiency and operations of a diverse
transportation fleet. Responsibilities include vehicle procurement,
maintenance process management, driver management, safety, and cost
optimization, requiring collaboration with stakeholders from both
internal teams and external partner vendors, contributing to
ongoing process improvement, and working with field operators to
ensure compliance with fleet policies and regulations.Essential
Responsibilities
- Oversee vehicle procurement programs to ensure vendor-provided
fleet inventory meets operational and client contractual
requirements.
- Utilize vendor acquisition programs and applications to ensure
vehicle upfit timelines are achieved and deliveries of vehicles
support contract requirements.
- Develop and maintain lifecycle cost analysis data to evaluate
cost-effectiveness of vehicles, including maintenance, fuel,
depreciation, and replacement cycles and make budget
recommendations.
- Audit client-billable vehicle charges to ensure accuracy and
maximize profitability.
- Maintain the vendor-provided fuel card program, monitor costs,
and notify stakeholders when out-of-specification charges
occur.
- Recommend strategies to reduce fuel card misuse and theft,
increase greater fuel card system efficiency, and develop
recommendations to reduce the financial and maintenance impacts of
vehicle idling.
- Monitor vendor-managed vehicle maintenance programs. Assess
deficiencies, identify improvements, and promote the effectiveness
of preventable maintenance processes and vehicle retention and
replacement plans.
- Track warranty claims and make recommendations for improvements
and cost savings.
- Support driver safety programs and recommend implementation of
'Best Practices' to improve protocols, training, and procedural
compliance.
- Optimize the use of telematics for fleet management,
compliance, and efficiency. Stay informed about emerging
technologies and recommend their implementation where
beneficial.
- Maintain vehicle registration and licensing for the fleet.
- Develop benchmarking metrics to compare fleet performance
against industry standards, identify areas for improvement, and
implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify eco-friendly practices and recommend improvements
aligned with environmental regulations, government incentive
programs, and emissions reduction initiatives.Competence Profile
- Demonstrate ability to identify strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats (SWOT) for vehicle operations with
recommendations to remediate unpredictable circumstances that
create liability affecting financial, legal, and strategic
concerns, contracts, or fleet utilization.
- Must understand budgeting, cost control, and financial planning
to manage budgets, track expenses, and optimize spending.
- Demonstrate assessing and mitigating risks related to fleet
operations, insurance, and compliance.
- Proven ability to provide excellent service to internal
stakeholders (drivers/leaders) and external customers
(vendors/partners).
- Ability to manage teams effectively using interpersonal skills,
collaborate with others to address inquiries, resolve issues
promptly with a high level of detail, and maintain positive
relationships.Requirements
- A Bachelor of Education Degree (BEd) in Logistics, Accounting,
Business Administration, Automotive Technology, or a related field,
or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry-recognized certifications, such as Certified
Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or Certified Automotive Fleet
Specialist (CAFS) is not mandatory, but preferred.
- Two to three years experience managing and fleet operations,
procurement processes, and supply chain solutions.
- Experience in a service-related industry with a focus on fleet
operations, telematics solutions, procurement, vehicle maintenance,
state registrations, vehicle insurance, driver management,
dispatching vehicle logistics, and safe driving vehicle operations
is desired.
- Proven work experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role
